A Day in the Life of the World

Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby (Syracuse, US)

A Day in the Life of the World is a poster created by Canadian artists Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby, which explores the relationship between video art and printed matter. The content of the poster was built through the compilation of 200 web-video signals. A still image was captured and printed on a map-sized sheet of paper.

Cooper Battersby and Emily Vey Duke have been working collaboratively since 1994. They work in printed matter, installation, curation and sound, but their primary practice is the production of single-channel video. Their work has been exhibited in galleries and at festivals in North and South America and throughout Europe. For more info see Duke & Battersby’s website
